As part of the EMDOLA program, master students from Timișoara, Rome, and Parma participated in a joint visit to a state-of-the-art laser fabrication facility. This collaborative experience offered valuable insight into the design, engineering, and calibration of advanced laser systems used in medical field, strengthening the link between theoretical knowledge and clinical applications.
This immersive journey that blended advanced lectures, interactive hands-on training, and an exclusive visit to a high-tech laser fabrication facility. This dynamic experience bridged science, skill, and innovation in a truly international setting.
During the conservative dentistry module, master students participate in intensive hands-on training sessions focused on the clinical integration of laser technology in minimally invasive restorative procedures. Under direct supervision, students perform practical exercises, gaining experience in cavity preparation, caries removal, dentin conditioning, enamel etching, hypersensitivity treatment, and photobiomodulation protocols. The training emphasizes proper laser parameter selection, tissue interaction, ergonomics, and safety procedures, while also developing precision and clinical decision-making skills. Students are exposed to evidence-based treatment protocols using different laser wavelengths and delivery systems, allowing them to compare conventional and laser-assisted approaches in adhesive and restorative dentistry.
During the OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) practical module of the Master in Lasers in Dental Medicine, participants gained hands-on experience with non-invasive imaging techniques used for the assessment of dental hard and soft tissues. The laboratory session focused on OCT image acquisition and interpretation, allowing students to visualize internal tissue structures, detect early pathological changes, and evaluate treatment outcomes in real time. The practical training highlighted the clinical applications of OCT as a valuable diagnostic and monitoring tool in modern laser-assisted dentistry.
During the hands-on LiteTouch laser workshop, participants practiced operating the laser system and explored its clinical applications in dental procedures, gaining practical experience with laser-assisted treatments in a controlled learning environment.
Take your place among ambitious students from across Europe and explore the cutting edge of laser dentistry through innovation, practice, and global collaboration.

The Master’s programme in Lasers in Dental Medicine is part of a longstanding tradition of international scientific collaboration and excellence in laser dentistry.
This legacy is reflected in the series of International Laser Conferences and Congresses organized by the Romanian Society for Lasers in Medicine (SRLS), under the coordination of Professor Carmen Todea, in collaboration with Victor Babeș University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Timișoara, Romania.
Over the years, these scientific events have brought together international experts, researchers, clinicians, and students, fostering the exchange of knowledge and advancing innovation in laser dentistry and medicine.
